NOTE: The WebGL build has an issue where you might have to enter/exit the rifts once before they will start to register.

Also: I somehow messed up the export so that the final level is first. Because of that the difficulty follows a U shape. This is not shown super well so: The bottom 2 buttons activate the lower door and the top ones activate the top door.

Echo is a puzzle game where glowing rifts will cause you actions in them to loop. When you leave a rift a clone will repeat the actions you took in the rift exactly. Only one clone can exist at the time in each rift.

  • Try and reach the Orb to advance to the next level.
  • There are buttons that will disable segments of the wall allowing you to pass.
  • Some walls require multiple buttons to be pressed.

Controls

  • W/A/S/D: move the player

Echo was created in 96 hours for the GMTK 2025 Game Jam

cool idea! it made sense once i understood what was happening.

i feel like my criticism of not knowing what was going on in the first level is already be addressed by other comments about not making the high difficulty "last level" as the first level.

also the rift clone can go through walls which was a neat thing. u could def do more things with that idea and the box for future level ideas

Bad impression, but I really liked it, like the first comment said.
It's hard to know how the game works, probably because of the U difficulty. I would add a deeper explanation in description.
Cool idea!

I'm sorry to hear that! I'll definitely work on expanding the description!

interesting game, I liked it once I got it. I think it'd click quicker if you included what the "rift" looked like/how it works in description.

Thanks! Good idea!
